CSUS Schrödinger Equation Scholarship

The Decious Scholarships were created in honor of Dan Decious who taught Chemistry at Sacramento State, and Mary Decious who is an alumna of the Biological Sciences and Chemistry departments. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide encouragement and financial assistance to students who demonstrate intellectual curiosity about the laws and processes of the natural world. The natural world academic goals is to reach beyond attaining a baccalaureate degree and toward post graduate study in the realms of research, teaching or the health professions.

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible to receive this scholarship:

  • Major: Chemistry or Biochemistry
  • Minimum GPA: 2.5 GPA in good academic standing
  • Class Level: Undergrad: Sophomore, Junior, Senior. Graduate: Classified.
  • Financial Need: Financial need may be considered, but is not required
  • Enrollment: Full time enrollment at time of award and at time of application

• Student must have completed at least one full semester at Sacramento State
• Preference: Particular consideration should be give not applicants with financial need; who are heads of households; employed; honorably discharged veterans or their dependents; students with disabilities; ESL students; Dreamer students: Citizens of Native American Nations, including Enrolled and Disenrolled members; Recognized, Unrecognized, and/or Terminated Native nations; individuals from communities which are underrepresented in the sciences; or students who are first in their family to attend college.
