SMUD Hornet Leadership Scholars

The SMUD Hornet Leadership Scholars Stipend is intended to support students in the College of Engineering and Computer Science.

The scholarship is open to……..

  • Undergraduates- Sophomores and Juniors
  • Any major in the College of Engineering and Computer Science
  • Minimum 3.0 overall GPA
  • Enrollment- At least half time at time of award and at time of application

Applicants must include a statement of interest in the career field of
IT, and discuss their affiliation with an activity or organization that relates to diversity in
engineering and computer science such as the following: The MESA Engineering Program
(MEP); American Indian Science and Engineering Society; Association for Computing
Machinery; Computer Technology Club; Data Science Club; Hispanic Society of
Professional Engineers; National Society of Black Engineers; and Society of Women
Engineers
