Bania Family Scholarship in Physics and Astronomy

The purpose of this scholarship is intended to support students in the Department of Physics and Astronomy

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible to receive this scholarship:

• Major: Physics
• Minimum GPA: 3.25 GPA in Math and Physics classes that count towards degree
• Class Level: Undergrad: Sophomore, Junior, Senior
• Financial Need: Financial need is not required
• Enrollment: Full-time enrollment at time of award and at time of application
• Other: See Below (Apply-to)

• Introductory Physics Sequence – (Physics 11A, 11B, 11C), as determined by the current Physics and Astronomy staff or Department Chair
• May Reapply – Student recipients are eligible t o reapply for the scholarship award, and receive the scholarship up to 2 years. The student’s application will be considered by the scholarship committee as part of the entire applicant pool
• Club Membership – Membership in the Sacramento State Women in Physics and Astronomy student club, which is open to all physics and astronomy students
• Preference – Preference should be given to female students
