Shari Wright Daniels Memorial Scholarship

The Shari Wright Daniels Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the memory of College of Education alumna Shari Wright Daniels.

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible to receive this scholarship:
- minimum 3.0 GPA;
- limited to students accepted or enrolled in any College of Education credential program;
- financial need may be considered but is not required;
- must be enrolled at least half time at time of award;
- preference shall be given to Liberal Arts majors
- preference to students who have participated in the Sacramento State Spirit leader squad

  1. Do you have a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies?
  2. I have participated in the Sacramento State Spirit/Cheer Leader Squad.
  3. Submit a discussion (typed, two-pages, double- spaced) on why you decided to enter the field of education, and how do you hope to make an impact on children/youth in the classroom.
  4. Submit a list of experiences related to working with children or youth beginning with the most recent. List dates, settings, student populations (age/grade level and diversity level), responsibilities, and supervision.
  5. Two letters of recommendation are required. Letters must be on letterhead and no older than one year from date of scholarship application submission, and should be relevant to your educational endeavors (please scan letters together in one document, as the program only allows you to download one document).
