Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation Native American Studies Scholarship
Scholarship is open to any major. Students must have one or more of the following:
- Concentration or Minor in Native American Studies
- At least one course in Native American Studies from Sacramento State successfully completed the previous semester to the scholarship application
- At least one course in Native American Studies from Sacramento State in the process of being taken in the semester of the scholarship application
Open to:
- Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors, Classified Graduates, and 2nd Bachelor’s Degree
Enrollment Requirements:
- At least nine (9) units for undergraduate and six (6) units for graduate-level students at the time of the award and at the time of the application.
Students must complete a two-page essay on a topic of California Native Studies and explain their educational goal(s), financial need for the scholarship, the tribe they are affiliated with and any involvement in the tribe.
- The topic for 2026-2027 is; ‘In what ways do California Native Nations practice cultural continuance? Provide specific examples and how did you learn this?’
