The Lila Jacobs Scholarship Fund
The Lila Jacobs Scholarship Fund was established to encourage a student to obtain a California teaching credential, or an administrative credential with the expressed goal of working in an urban school (K-12), with students from low-income, culturally/or linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible to receive this scholarship:
- must be in good academic standing;
- limited to students accepted or enrolled in the single-subject, multiple-subject, or administrative credential programs;
- financial need may be considered but is not required;
- must be enrolled at least half-time at the time of award

- Submit a personal statement (typed, two-pages, double- spaced) to include: a. Reasons for pursuing a career in education b. Methods of financing your education and how you would use scholarship funds c. Future career objectives
- Submit a list of experiences related to working with children or youth beginning with the most recent. List dates, settings, student populations (age/grade level and diversity level), responsibilities, and supervision.
