Mildred A. Dawson Fund for Reading and Language Arts

The Mildred Dawson Fund for Reading and Language Arts is a scholarship for students who have demonstrated outstanding scholarship in course work and outstanding performance in the teaching of reading and language arts as indicated by letters of recommendation.

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible to receive this scholarship:

  • minimum 3.0 overall GPA;
  • limited to students accepted or enrolled in the multiple subject credential program;
  • financial need is not required;
  • may be enrolled full or part time;
  • must be enrolled at time of award;
  • at least two letter of recommendation required from professors, cooperating teachers, and supervisors
  • outstanding performance in student teaching
  • outstanding personal qualities of integrity, dedication to teaching, enthusiasm, and love of children
