Marie I. and Cecil L. Clement Memorial Scholarship

Dr. Norris Clement graduated from Sacramento State in 1960, following a career as a jazz pianist, with a B.A. in Economics. Dr. Clement spent his career as an economist and professor traveling the world in pursuit of the question, Why are some countries rich and why are some poor The Marie I. and Cecil L. Clement Memorial Scholarship honors the lives of Dr. Clement parents who were raised in poverty and were deeply supportive of Dr. Clement academic career. The scholarship provides assistance for deserving students in need who have demonstrated an interest in social and economic change.
