Peggy Saunders Hall Memorial Scholarship

Peggy Saunders Hall (1926 to 2010) was a talented artist and enthusiastic teacher. She studied in Chicago and Los Angeles before pursuing her teaching certificate in elementary education at California State University, Sacramento. She received a BA in Art in 1949, the first year the degree was awarded. Jan Saunders Schmidt set up this endowment in honor of her sister, Ms. Saunders Hall, so that other inventive minds will find and give joy through art.

The Peggy Saunders Hall Memorial Scholarship is a $5,000.00 award to support an outstanding undergraduate Art student who has chosen teaching at any level as a future goal. The Art Department Scholarship Committee will select the awardee. The award will be presented at the reception of the Art Departments Annual Award Show in Spring 2019.
