Tony Shukle and Louis A. Shukle Science Teacher Preparation Scholarship

The purpose of this scholarship is intended to support scholarships for students at Sacramento State, studying to be science teachers, preferably at the middle or secondary school level.

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible to receive this scholarship:

• Major: Biological Science, Chemistry, Physics and Astronomy, Geography, or Geology
• Minimum GPA: 3.0 GPA in good academic standing
• Class Level: Undergrad: Sophomore, Junior, Senior. Graduate: Classified.
• Financial Need: Financial need is preferred, but is not required

• Applicants must submit a 250-500-word essay describing their interest in teaching science and future career goals.
• Preference for students participating in Science Subject Matter program or in the Physics BA Teacher Preparation Concentration or similar programs should they exist in the future.
• Student receipted(s) are eligible to reapply for the scholarship award and receive the award up to two (2) years. Applicants will be considered by the scholarship committee as a part of the entire pool.
